Macclesfield Constituency Labour Party is split into four branches. Four branches represent their communities and that come together to work for those communities.
Members from each branch are elected to our executive committee. Here is an explanation of how Labour Party makes decisions
Chair: The Chair’s role is to provide support and direction within the local party, taking on organisational and campaigning duties. The Chair facilitates meetings and decisions, whilst ensuring the CLP operates fairly and effectively.
Secretary: The CLP Secretary works with the Chair on organisation, communication and correspondence within the local party, ensuring members are kept up to date with party activities, be it meetings or campaign events.
Vice-Chair: Our Vice Chairs take on the role of supporting the Chair and Secretary in facilitating campaigning and membership communication. They may also be asked to fill in for the Chair if ever the Chair is unable to attend a meeting.
Treasurer: Keeping an accurate record of the CLP accounts and ensuring the financial side of proceedings runs smoothly, the Treasurer has an important role within the local party.
Liberation Officers: Our committee members for Disability, BAME, LGBT+, Women and Youth not only play the part of representatives for their respective liberation groups, but also work to ensure their members are able to fully engage with the local party. They make sure their members are involved and their voices heard.
